Help for Singles
Whether you’ve never been married or you’re divorced, chances are you long for an intimate relationship in your future. One of the most rewarding aspects of our counseling and spiritual formation practice is being able to journey alongside singles, and help them heal from their past. We coach them to become more intimate with God, begin to truly forgive, and love themselves, which is very satisfying. We have seen that when singles confront their pain, woundedness and addictions, God opens doors to brand new loving, Christ-centered relationships. We also speialize in any and all sexual abuse and help facilitate long-term healing. A bonus has been the fruit they’ve experienced: healing, receptivity to pursuing love, countless marriages, and soon babies!
Our hope is that singles will integrate a sexual theology within God’s parameters taught in the Bible, embracing their masculine and feminine hearts along with their God-given sexuality without killing off their hearts, and avoid giving into carnal desire and worldly temptations. Our pray is that singles will be able to use their sexuality and identity in Christ to honor the Lord, others, and their future Adam and Eve.
“There’s more to sex than mere skin on skin. Sex is as much spiritual mystery as physical fact. As written in Scripture, “The two become one.” Since we want to become spiritually one with the Master, we must not pursue the kind of sex that avoids commitment and intimacy, leaving us more lonely than ever—the kind of sex that can never “become one.” There is a sense in which sexual sins are different from all others. In sexual sin we violate the sacredness of our own bodies, these bodies that were made for God-given and God-modeled love, for “becoming one” with another. Or didn’t you realize that your body is a sacred place, the place of the Holy Spirit? Don’t you see that you can’t live however you please, squandering what God paid such a high price for? The physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the spiritual part of you. God owns the whole works. So let people see God in and through your body. (1 Corinthians 6:16-20)
