1. Married Christians Should Be Having the Best Sex Becuz They’re Naked and Unashamed
1. Because of Jesus’ death on the cross to redeem their sin; they’re the only ones that can be “naked and unashamed” in front of their spouse. It’s the way God originally designed sex in the Garden of Eden before The Fall of Adam and Eve.
That means the wife doesn’t worry about cellulite or her butt looking too big, and the husband doesn’t worry about his penis size or performance.
2. They’ve Made A Covenant of Love with One Another
2. Because they’ve made a covenant of love with one another to have and to hold each other, forsaking all others until death do they part. That means there’s trust and safety in their love so they’re the only ones who can truly be one-flesh, relax, have fun, experiment with new ways of giving each other pleasure and give life to one another.
3. They’re Made Male and Female in God’s Image
3. Both are made in God’s image as male and female and they fit perfectly together. Their bodies convey what it means to be masculine and feminine, which means the husband can move towards his wife and enter into her with power and strength, and the wife can risk, become vulnerable and receive her husband as God designed.
4. Becuz They Represent Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:25)
4. Because he represents Christ loving the wife (church) and she represents the church receiving his love (Ephesians 5:25). His love is to represent Christ’s love of purity, dying to himself sacrificially, and serving her. So the husband filled with God’s Spirit can love and serve his wife by giving himself up for her (sacrificially even unto death) both in the marriage bed and outside, and the wife can submit to her husband (become open, soft and vulnerable toward him) putting herself under his mission to love her as Christ loves the church, which (HELLO. . .) makes for great SEX!
5. Because God is Love and His love is Unconditional
5. Because God is love and His love is unconditional and irrevocable. So that means because of Jesus’ work on the cross for each spouse they can offer that kind of amazing love to one another, which also makes for mind-blowing sex!
The Unfortunate Reality
Too often in our sex therapy ministry, we’ve witnessed huge obstacles that have been getting in the way of a married couple having the best sex ever. But too often, everything else comes first, and our intimacy with the Lord and our spouses are the first to go. Despite our desires and best efforts to give our lovers something more than the fumes at the end of our day (or nothing at all), we still remain busy, constantly wired to technology, and running to the little gods that we think will fulfill us.
